An acid-free primer is a nail product designed to gently enhance the adhesion between the natural nail and nail enhancements like gel, acrylic, or gel polish without the use of harsh acids. Unlike acid-based primers, which etch the nail surface, acid-free primers create a slightly tacky layer on the nail that acts as a bonding agent. This helps prevent lifting and ensures long-lasting wear.

Acid-free primers are ideal for clients with sensitive nails or skin, as they are much gentler and less likely to cause irritation or damage.  It can applied in a thin layer after nail prep (cleaning, buffing, and dehydrating), and air dry quickly, leaving the nail ready for further product application. This type of primer is versatile and works well with both gel and acrylic systems.
